Hi, I am Rana, a Ph.D. Candidate at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Spain and an Early-Stage Researcher (ESR) in the PROTECT project. My Ph.D. aims to investigate the new Privacy Enhancing Semantic Technologies (PEST) necessary to support the GDPR Compliance.
I hold a BSc in Software Engineering (2013) and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence (2016) from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. I proposed a pattern recognition framework based on visual cortex structure and fuzzy methods in my master thesis. I also investigated an automatic system for detecting malignant tumors on mammograms using image processing methods in my bachelor thesis. Before joining the PROTECT, I have the chance to work as a full-stack web developer (2016-2018) in the implementation of an online educational platform to eliminate learning barriers and offer various services to both teachers and students.
